Yes, 75 years of doing the same thing over and over has gotten Lebanon nothing but misery. I whole heartedly agree, peace, which will take more courage to embrace, is indeed the only path forward for a new, safe, and prosperous Lebanon.

A commitment to peaceful coexistence? A realization that the Jewish state is the strongest, richest country in the region and won't be dissolving anytime soon? Choosing the well-being and potential flourishing of your nation, people and children over some ancient deranged jihad that has yielded only bloodshed and misery?

Radical ideas! ;)

Way too few ask the obvious question: why aren't the Emir of Qatar et al flying to Jerusalem to negotiate an end to it?

The world has turned the conflict into a bizarre entertainment that applies the ideas of Artaud, the Situationists and Baudrillard to the wretched of the earth. Staged for the benefit of theatre kids larping as activists and the miserable people who find outrage life-enhancing.

There is no way the world would apply this approach in Europe or East Asia. Then again...there is the Ukraine.
