I’m an Israeli living abroad and am always looking for intelligent commentary on the Middle East cauldron of conflict, so thanks Hussain for your refreshing and succinct analysis.
When Fidel Castro took power in Cuba, January 1, 1959, he also claimed to be a democrat and always appeared in public with a religious medal around his neck.
It wasn't until the middle of 1960, after a year of progressively increasing executions of political enemies, that he felt the need to announce in public that he was, and always had been, a Marxist-Leninist. The dictatorship he imposed on Cuba is still in place.
A cautionary tale when listening to the siren songs coming from al-Sharaa in these early days.

Glad you like my analysis. Thanks, Eldad!
Israel, with the most to lose, was clear headed in its decision to downgrade Syria’s military capabilities.

What form of any inkling of "democracy" do you really think would work in Syria at this point in time?
Just thinking—this makes a good argument for Jesus Christ and for following His principles of government.
